11 May 2007 - The trip concludes
Again, awoke this morning when I wanted. Phil was gone, off to Beswick to 'fix things'.
I had some breakfast, though not much because what was in the fridge did not look inviting, then did some study. After a while, I figured I'd better set out to find some food, so wandered outside to have a look. There was a store, but the choices were few, so I settled on some tinned spaghetti and biscuits - anything prepackaged looked a better option than anything fresh.
About 1pm, Phil returned and we headed to the airstrip where, thankfully, the plane was still parked, and intact. It's always in the back of my mind that something will happened, anything from Native animals, Native people or some kind of scrub fire. Or most likely, something that would not even cross my mind as being possible, until it happens.
The flight back to Darwin is uneventful. The trip has been a good one, with about 6.5hrs flying time all up. Not a lot, but I've also added 5 new airstrips to my collection, taking my tally to 98. I've started adding the into Google Maps, so hopefully I'll have a link to them so, kind of a graphical view of where I've been. We'll see...
