02 April 2007 - Deja vu

Another long day today. An 8am departure with one passenger for Oenpelli, and then the pickup of another. These guys worked for a local company and are frequently called out to fix up anything electrical that breaks at some of the local communitys - generators, pumps, etc.

After Oenpelli, we flew to Mamdawerre (refer to the 14 March for pixs) where they spent an hour fixing the generator, then South to Marlgawo to fix a water pump. At Mamadawerre there's 13 houses, and Marlgawo there's two, so there's not a lot to do at either place. As the flight happened at short notice I didnt' bring anything to do, so I did the only thing possible... took a nap, in the only place there was shade - in the plane!

Dry season is certainly underway now, because the sun was beating down all day, and this was only the third time I'd needed to 'sun screen up'. It was a battle keeping it on though, because it kept getting washed off from the sweat. What a sight I must have been. Oh well, in a few weeks the dust will come up, and help to glue everything together.
